10th January 2026 Fellow musicians, esteemed guests, and members of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Benue State Chapter, I stand before you today, humbled and honored to assume the office of Governor of our beloved association. I am grateful for the trust reposed in me, and I pledge to work tirelessly to move our organization forward. As we begin this new chapter, I hereby dissolve all standing committees, local government executive committees, and zonal/local government coordinators, effective immediately. This decision is necessary to pave the way for a new era of leadership and innovation. I am pleased to announce the establishment of a State Advisory Committee, which will comprise all past governors of PMAN Benue State Chapter and selected stakeholders. This committee will serve as a guiding body, providing strategic advice and support to the executive committee. Additionally, it will act as a disciplinary committee, ensuring that our association maintains the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. The committee will meet thrice a year to review progress and provide guidance. Our priorities for the next term are clear: 1. Securing a Suitable Secretariate: We will work towards acquiring a permanent home for our association, a place where musicians can gather, rehearse, and access resources, brain storm and host public events. 2. Musicians' Welfare: We will advocate for the rights and interests of our members, ensuring that they receive fair treatment and compensation for their work. 3. Inauguration of Local Government EXCO and Zonal Coordinators: We will establish a strong presence in all local governments, empowering grassroots musicians and expanding our reach. 4. A digital database for Benue musicians already half way through development and deployment (https://pmanbenue.com.ng) already floating. To facilitate our activities, we will need to : - Acquire a means of transportation for official duties - Provide live band equipment for rehearsals and performances, -set up adhoc committees in areas of necessity I call on the government of Benue state, private organizations and well-meaning individuals to help facilitate and fund PMAN as a union that covers musicians, entertainers and employers of this labor for a greater percentage of this union are youth and music has taken them off the streets hence the need for encouragement and support to enhance their livelihood. I call upon all members to join hands with us as we work towards a brighter future for the music industry in Benue State.
